Flint Group, a global leader in printing inks and coatings, has reinforced its commitment to sustainability in India by inaugurating a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Savli, Vadodara, Gujarat. This 9,000-square-meter plant is dedicated to producing water-based inks and coatings for the Paper & Board market, as well as energy-curable inks for the Label & Narrow Web sector.
The facility will manufacture Flint Group’s AQUACode range of water-based inks and coatings, designed to support printers’ sustainability objectives while maintaining high performance and consistency. Additionally, the plant will produce the EkoCure® Dual Cure series, formulated to cure with both traditional mercury UV lamps and low-energy UV LED lamps, simplifying ink inventory for printers transitioning to UV LED curing.
Strategically located within 10 kilometers of Flint Group’s existing flexible packaging manufacturing site in Lamdapura, the new facility complements the company’s existing operations, which include a solvent-based ink plant and a non-toluene ink unit. This expansion significantly enhances Flint Group’s manufacturing capacity in India, catering to the increasing demand in the region’s packaging and label industries.
The grand opening event on November 26, 2024, was attended by key Flint Group leaders, including Doug Aldred, Chief Commercial Officer, and Upal Roy, Managing Director for India, South Africa, and the Middle East. Upal Roy emphasized that the new facility demonstrates Flint Group’s commitment to the rapidly growing Indian corrugated packaging and label printing market. By significantly enhancing local manufacturing capabilities, the company aims to meet evolving customer requirements and strategically position itself to capitalize on future growth opportunities in this dynamic region.
This development further strengthens Flint Group’s robust presence in India, which includes an ISO 9001:2015-certified manufacturing plant in Hosur specializing in inks for Narrow Web labels, a blending site in Noida, and warehouses in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, ensuring comprehensive coverage and service across the country.
Through this significant investment, Flint Group is advancing sustainable printing solutions in India, aligning with global environmental standards and supporting the country’s growing printing and packaging industries.
