In December 2024, Monotech Systems Ltd., headquartered in Chennai, India, introduced the Markforged FX10, a cutting-edge industrial 3D printer capable of fabricating both metal and composite components. The unveiling event, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Suites GRT Chennai, was attended by industry leaders and dignitaries from various sectors.
The Markforged FX10 features a modular build system, allowing users to seamlessly switch between metal and composite build engines. With a substantial build volume of 375 mm x 300 mm x 300 mm, the FX10 is designed to enhance manufacturing productivity by producing strong and accurate tools and fixtures. It supports a variety of materials, including 17-4PH and 316L stainless steels, as well as Onyx ESD™ and Onyx FR™ composites.
Key features of the FX10 include advanced printhead-mounted optical sensors for verifying dimensional accuracy and assessing device health, along with automatic calibration and material changeover capabilities. These innovations aim to streamline workflows and maximize productivity for manufacturers.
During the launch event, Prashant Sinha, Country Manager for Markforged India, highlighted successful implementations of various Markforged additive manufacturing machines across multiple sectors, including aerospace, marine, energy, research laboratories, and drones, demonstrating the technology’s wide-ranging applications across industries.
