At the Paperex 2023 exhibition, held from December 6th to 9th at the India Expo Centre in Delhi-NCR, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) showcased its commitment to sustainable packaging solutions. As a leading manufacturer utilizing bagasse—a byproduct of sugarcane processing—for paper production, TNPL highlighted its range of eco-friendly products, including coated folding box boards, SBS boards, and cup stocks, catering to the increasing demand for sustainable packaging materials.

During the event, TNPL focused on its packaging boards and cup stocks, presenting Maplitho varieties such as TNPL Radiant Platinum, TNPL Radiant Stationery, TNPL Eco Maplitho, and folding box board (FBB). Additionally, SBS board varieties like Aura Fold Plus, Aura Brilliant Plus, Aura Grafik, and cup stock varieties including Aura Flute and Aura Flute Supreme were on display. These products are designed to meet diverse industry needs while promoting environmental sustainability.

D. Arasu, Senior Marketing Manager at TNPL, emphasized the company’s production capabilities, noting that their plants in Karur and Trichy districts produce 440,000 tonnes of paper and 250,000 tonnes of board annually. The Karur unit is dedicated to paper and copiers, while the Trichy unit focuses on boards. TNPL exports approximately 20% of its products to various countries, including those in Europe, Sri Lanka, Kenya, and the UAE, reflecting its global reach and commitment to quality.

Looking ahead, TNPL has outlined plans for a new paperboard machine, aiming to manufacture top-notch paper and paperboards and achieve an overall production capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum. This initiative underscores TNPL’s dedication to innovation and sustainability in the paper industry, aligning with global trends towards eco-friendly packaging solutions
